Today’s instalment of meet the team is Alex Hunt – let’s find out more about him, his role, background, and interests!
Alex, what is your role at SMS?
I manage all aspects of sales from new customers to ensuring our existing customers are getting the most out of what they are paying for.
What’s your background?
My roles consist of consultancy and sales in EPOS, ERP and SAAS solutions but I started out as an IT installations engineer.
What do you enjoy about the work you do?
I enjoy ensuring everyone I speak to has the most appropriate products that enable them to meet their business objectives.
Why should a potential customer choose SMS?
We aren’t simply focused on the highest sale. We ensure that we support customers with any size business and help them with the IT decisions that fit their company best.
Which of the many solutions that we offer is one of your personal favourites to use, and why?
The applications Azure has are near endless which is why it’s so interesting to me. Replace the need and maintenance from physical hardware, new mixed reality capabilities and machine learning with one infrastructure is simply amazing!
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Any hobbies?
I am a massive fan and partaker of combat sports.
I started boxing from a young age and transitioned into MMA in my mid-teens. Since then I have competed in Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, MMA and boxing. Although recent injuries has put a stop to my ability to compete, I still train for fun and fitness.
What are the three items you would take with you to a deserted island?
Ignoring the logical things, I would take…
- My punch bag
- Nintendo switch
- And a nonfiction book on either sales or investing.
