For the next instalment of our Meet the SMS Team series is our Technical Support Manager Martin Barber – today we’re asking him various questions about himself, his role and his interests!

Good morning Martin! So first of all, can you explain your role at SMS?

I am the Technical Support manager here at SMS, I am responsible for all support staff and all aspects of customer services within the support department. I am also involved with our YouTube channel in delivering product-based webinars.

How long have you been with us?

I’ve been working with SMS since December 2010.

Wow, that’s a long time! What do you like about the job?

The key aspects I love about this role is how challenging and rewarding is it, being able to demonstrate products knowledge to our customers motivates me to go the extra mile and implementing changes to help and support our customers to improve the service we provide.

I know you have extensive technical knowledge and lots of experience with the products we offer. Referring to this knowledge and experience, why do you think customers should move to Microsoft 365?

Microsoft 365 is the perfect solution to make your work life more productive and get more done, it features services such as Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Office and much more, these tools will help you stay up to date on the latest projects, stay connected with work colleagues and keep up to date with emails from customers and suppliers. Its rich and user-friendly interface makes it easy to get the job done and as it’s in the cloud its secure and always up to date. Plus, SMS have a dedicated migration team who will support you through the migration process to make the transition as seamless as possible.

Thanks for that! Now, we know you’re into Apple, so what is your favourite Apple product and what would you like to see them announce next?

That’s a tough one but I would probably say my iPhone 13 Pro as I’m a hobbyist photographer the camera quality is just incredible, and you can even shoot in RAW format. I really hope they announce a replacement to the 2018 HomePod and release a newer version with similar feature to the mini such as thread and ultra-wideband support.
