When Microsoft Office 365 Business Premium first replaced the Mid-Size Business plan, one of the consequences was removing Microsoft Access from the included Windows desktop Office suite.

After listening to customer feedback, Microsoft have reversed this position and, from December 1, will include Microsoft Access with Office 365 Business Premium and Office 365 Business plans. Access will be automatically installed for customers on relevant plans. The installation will take place before January 30, 2017; except customers on the Deferred Channel who will be updated in June 2017.

Improvements for E3 and E5 Access customers

Microsoft Access continues to be part of the E3 and E5 plans and new set of enterprise data connectors is rolling out in early 2017. These new connectors include:

  • OData Feed
  • Dynamics CRM
  • Salesforce
  • Amazon Redshift

These new connections improve Access integration with other business solutions and databases.
