Important information regarding FutureSpam

On Wednesday 17/05/2017 Google switched off legacy Postini MX records without prior notice which resulted in email delivery issues to all customers who use these legacy MX records. If you are affected, action is required to restore full email functions.

How do I know if I am affected?

If your MX records match the following details, then you are affected (substitute your own domain name for ‘mydomain.com’ when checking):

  • mydomain.com.s200b2.psmtp.com
  • mydomain.com.s200b1.psmtp.com
  • mydomain.com.s200a2.psmtp.com
  • mydomain.com.s200a1.psmtp.com

or

  • fs1.exchange.simply.ms
  • fs2.exchange.simply.ms
  • fs3.exchange.simply.ms
  • fs4.exchange.simply.ms

What do I need to do next to restore my email service?

For all domains managed by SMS we have updated the mx records and you don’t need to do anything else.

For any domains which are managed externally you will need to update and replace your existing MX records with those below. Once updated it may take several hours for the new records to update across the globe

  • ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. Priority 1
  • ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. Priority 5
  • ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. Priority 5
  • ALT3.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. Priority 10
  • ALT4.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. Priority 10

If you are unsure how to check your MX records, or require further help please contact our Support team on 01925 818252 or email support@simplymailsolutions.com from an email address unaffected by these issues (eg a Gmail account).
