Microsoft Office 365 includes many tools to improve the working day of desk or office based people. Easy calendar scheduling to organise the working day, Delve to find relevant documents, web conferencing and instant messaging to make collaboration quicker and simpler.

These tools are great, but they don’t address the needs of the 500 million non-desk workers in industries like hotels, restaurants, manufacturing, and retail. Many of whom are bound by paper documents, manual processes, and ad hoc delivery of information.

Bringing Office efficiency to non-office workers

Microsoft StaffHub brings a new set of Office 365 tools designed specifically for non-office workers.

  • Schedule management — Create, update, and manage team shifts; whilst avoiding time conflicts. Colleagues access shift details using the Microsoft StaffHub mobile app. They can see their upcoming shifts instantly, any relevant notes, other employees on the same shift, and manage shift swaps.
  • Share information — Important updates, like policy documents, or company news, are distributed instantly to employees. Instant Messaging is also available; so individual colleagues can be told “We need everyone to work on the tills”, or “The boss is heading in your direction”.
  • Custom connections — Admins can define custom links for workers to see in the mobile app; pointing to resources such as HR systems. Integration with Kronos will be available in the future.
